Body-Grafix | Home-based knitting design

Body-Grafix is a home-based knitting design business created by Beverley Ann Finlay.
B’Ann is a graduate from Sheridan College’s Fashion Technique and Design, with a specialty in Knitting Design.  Once she graduated from college, B’Ann worked for the design house of Alfred Sung and in the costume department of the National Ballet of Canada.

How it all began:
Starting a family became a challenge for B’Ann when her baby boy was born with cancer.  Jason lost one eye to Retinoblastoma, a form of cancer, and after the surgery he had to endure months of chemotherapy.  To help her cope, and to pass long hours in the hospital, B’Ann turned to knitting.  A sweater she designed during this time became the beginning of Body-Grafix.  She made Jason a bright red sweater out of her favourite cotton yarn.  People started asking her for the pattern, so she decided to publish it.  “Baby Checks” was Body-Grafix’s first pattern, and it is still a favourite of B’Ann’s.  When Jason’s little sister came along a few years later, B’Ann had the perfect team to design for.

Body-Grafix specializes in one of a kind hand knits for children using mostly natural fibers, one of our favorites being cotton, easy care and easy to wear.

Our patterns list the yarn by it’s yardage not by the ball so that any yarn can be used although our sample yarns are listed.   Many of our patterns are available in kits.  If there is something you would like that is not listed just send us an email.

After many requests, we are currently expanding into larger sizes (teens to adults) coming soon.
